This November, Senior, Josyln Brennan signed a contract for a full ride to play basketball at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan

Brennan has received multiple offers from schools including Wayne State, Detroit Mercy, Marquette University, and Niagara University.

Brennan stated, “There were multiple reasons of why I chose Grand Valley. One is because of the fact that it’s kind of far from home, but not too far. They also have a really nice basketball program, and it helps that everyone is nice too.”

Brennan commented that even though she has been playing this sport since her freshman year, she really didn’t think that she could play college level until her junior year.

Brennan continued, “When I started my junior year, I realized that I could go somewhere with this sport, so it pushed me even harder to do my best and to see what’s possible.”

Varsity coach Joseph Charrette commented that she has put in so much hard work over these past four years as a player.

Charrette stated, “Joslyn came to me as a raw athlete who knew nothing. She came in the gym all the time and put in hard work for this sport, and look how it paid off. She has a full ride to one of the best colleges around and it’s all because of her.”

Charrette continued on about that he wishes nothing but success for her in the future. He hopes to see her be able to complete college with an amazing degree and to grow into an even more amazing person.

Brennan wanted her teammates and coaches to know how thankful she was for them and how they’ve helped her along her journey as playing for the basketball team at Lakeview.

If you see Joslyn Brennan in the halls make sure you congratulate her for her new achievement of becoming a Grand Valley State Laker!
