Over the past few weeks, there have been reports on social media stating that Chick-fil-A is no longer coming to Roseville, yet the company states that it is. The restaurant was originally set to start construction in June of 2019 and open by year’s end, yet there aren’t any signs of construction. The reports are stating that either the company could not find a lease for a proposed location just outside the Macomb Mall or that the company’s plans were rejected by the city.

The company has stated that it is trying to get approval with the city and meet with future neighbors to see how they can best serve the area. According to city officials, the company is currently reviewing agencies and is awaiting storm water permits from the county and small revisions to their engineering plans.

Roseville City Manager Scott Adkins has stated that construction for this location is expected to start in Spring of 2020. Adkins has also stated that there has been some minor changes to site plans but there isn’t any signs of the company leaving Roseville.

The location is planned to be 5,000 square feet and will seat up to 90 people inside and 16 people outside. The restaurant is set to be located along Gratiot Avenue north of Masonic Boulevard between the Red Robin and Burger King eateries.

The new location has many people excited and even wanting to try more of their food. “Yes I am,” Fischer stated, “Chicken nuggets with their Chick-Fil-A sauce and some fries,” Fischer added.

According to April Wick, assistant general manager of Macomb Mall, the shopping center has no say in the location of the restaurant.

This location will be the restaurant’s second Macomb County store. Another location is already under construction at the Hall Road Crossing shopping center on Hall Road (M-59) at Schoenherr Road in Shelby Township. The location in Shelby Township stated to be finished and open in early 2020.
