Complex’s third annual sneaker and fashion convention, Complex Con, came to a close on Nov. 4.

This year saw many exclusive releases, live shows, and a few concerts. Artists like Vince Staples, Future, and Rae Sremmurd made appearances on each of the the three consecutive days.

This year was also dense with exclusive releases; New Pharrell’s were released in a blue and red colorway, accompanied with very exclusive Diamond and Nike SB’s,  just to name a few.

“To be real with you, I was really amped for those Nike Diamond SB’s,” Ryan Ross, ‘21 stated. “Although Complexcon has a ton of musical performances, I wasn’t really digging it this year. My eyes were mainly on those exclusive releases.”

Not all eyes were on the releases, though. Some Lakeview students really seemed to enjoy the live Complex shows.

“The few “Full Size Run” episodes they put out were golden,” stated Vince Munoz, ‘21. “Doing it live really showed some of those laugh worthy cuts from recorded episodes.”

Some are saying this is the best Complex Con so far, and they’re hopeful for an even greater one in 2019.

“If I really had to sum up all of Complex Con this year, I’d have to say it was one of the best ones,” senior Forrest Smith exclaimed, “it was just so jam packed with awesome releases from Nike, Pharrell, and the Legend Takashi Murakami. I just couldn’t contain my own hype each day coming into it.”

There was a lot to hate and love about Complex Con, and that seems to be the winning formula. Whether you got coveted shirts, sneakers, or hats, sneaker and fashion culture were at the forefront of the Con. Can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for us.
