Girls Varsity Tennis takes second at divisions

  Lakeview girls Varsity Tennis went to divisions and took second. Divisions was at Warren Woods Tower High School and Lakeview went up against some very difficult teams like East Detroit High School and Sterling Heights High School. The matches were very difficult, but the team performed very well and were very happy with the outcome.

  The girls Varsity tennis team is very close. All of the girls have formed a strong bond with each other and have formed very strong friendships.

  Senior, Alexandria Colson, ‘18 has been playing tennis since freshman year and had a great time playing for Lakeview.

   She stated, “I have a great time with the team and I get a lot of support from them when I’m playing. I would definitely tell someone who may be considering playing tennis to go for it because playing tennis for Lakeview has been an amazing experience.”

  The team continued onto Regionals and they performed their best.

  Caroline Oster, ‘20 mentioned, “I have not been playing tennis for that long but I have learned so much from the coaches and my teammates, and I have made some great friends. Regionals was very difficult and there is always room for improvement.”

    Carr explained, “I think we have shown a ton of improvement. We had some girls that placed all league, and one that was all county. We are a very young team and the future is very bright. We are also hosting a summer camp for everyone who is interested in playing tennis for Lakeview.”

  Overall, the tennis season went very well and all of the girls are proud of their performances. Even though the tennis season has just finished all of the girls are eager for next year.

  Samantha Beshke, ‘20, stated, “The team has so many nice girls on it and we all support each other no matter how we perform. I am excited for next year and all of the new girls to join.”
