Around this time of the year, teens cannot rely on their parents’ money any longer. It’s time students start looking for jobs in the area. Most teen jobs are like working at a fast-food restaurant, working at a ice cream parlor, hosting at restaurants, and babysitting.

“My first real job that I stuck with was between my junior and senior year and I worked landscaping. I feel like, just based on observances, a lot of teens nowadays work at fast-food places, restaurants, hosting, waiting tables, ice cream shops, pharmacies, stocking shelves, stuff like that,” said teacher Anthony Savalle.

If you’re looking for a job, it’s wise to first start looking online. Once you look online, if you see an establishment that is hiring, you may go to the place and get an application, or if able, apply online.

If looking online doesn’t work for you, going to places you may want to work and asking if they’re hiring is always an available option. Most places will tell you whether or not they are and hand you an application if the job is open. Of course if that doesn’t work either, ask around. You may have friends or family that know some jobs that are hiring.

“My job at Wally’s usually hires every February, which was around when I was hired. I needed a job; I couldn’t depend on my parents for cash anymore,” commented Dilyn Stevens.

A couple places hiring right now are Mcdonalds, Taco Bell, Tim Hortons, Texas Roadhouse, and Subway.
