Lakeview girls dress to impress at this year’s homecoming

 On Saturday, Sept. 30, Lakeview held its annual homecoming dance. The event was filled with a variety of dress styles that will not be forgotten.

  One of the most popular styles was A-Line, which is fitted on the top and then flares out into a flowy skirt, like the shape of the letter A. It has been a very common style since the 1950s.  

  A girl whose dress stood out from the rest was Libby Anderson,‘19 who stated,

  “I felt confident in the dress because it was exactly my style and it was super comfortable.”

  Anderson was very happy with her purchase because it was just what she was looking for.

  “My favorite thing about the dress has to be the color. I was looking for something dark to wear this year, but not exactly black, so the dark blue with black flowers was perfect,” said Anderson

  This style is when the top of the dress is separate from the skirt, showing a small amount of stomach. Many girls admire this style because it is a very unique and popular style right now.

  Nina Moceri, ‘20 stated, “I loved my dress because I felt very confident in it and I was happy because I didn’t see anyone else wearing it.”

  Another commonly worn style are bodycon dresses. The dress is more tight but usually very comfortable and easy to move around in. They are very flattering and mature looking.

  Lili Webb, ‘20 wore a gorgeous navy blue bodycon dress,

  “The dress made me feel really confident, especially just like being dressed up and I don’t really dress up that often; so, I think it was a really good find too, and I think it’s important to find a good dress.”

    Aside from styles, there was also a wide variety of colors seen at the dance. One of the most popular colors was black because, it is neutral and easy to dress up. Also, burgundy and navy blue were a favored choice because they represent the fall time.

  No matter what style or color of dress, everyone looked amazing on Saturday night. The biggest key to looking good is having confidence in your appearance and just owning your own unique look. Clothing is a way to express yourself with your appearance. It allows you to be creative and personalize your image. Always feel great in what you’re wearing because if you know you’re rocking it, then so does everyone else.
