With Christmas right around the corner, a big task comes at hand: buying gifts. Gift giving can be a really easy task if you know the person well but can be very difficult if you don’t know.

This list will help you get a gift that any person will love.

Money

Starting off simple, we have the gift of money. Money is something that everyone likes and will always have a use for.

If you really don’t know what the person wants, you can give them money so they can put it towards something they want or something they didn’t have enough cash for it.

Alex Lamay, ‘18 stated, “I would just want money. It’s way better than getting a gift from a family member that I probably wouldn’t even want.”

Gift Cards

Gift cards tie into money but still deserve a spot on this list.

Getting a gift card can seem more personal, and the person may like it more because it shows that you know what they like.

Gift cards can be used for many specific reasons. You can give a teen a gas card so they can drive around more, a food gift card so they can save money when they eat, a specific store card if they like the stuff there (make sure to ask the parents what they like for this one!), or a preloaded debit card.

Preloaded debit cards are really good if you’re purchasing a gift for someone that’s younger so they can buy their favorite stuff online, since they most likely won’t have a debit/credit card.

Hannah Skoney-Coursey, ‘20 stated, “If I could get anything I would prefer a preloaded debit card. I love buying stuff online and this would be the perfect gift so I can buy music and other stuff off of Amazon.”

Portable charger

A portable charger can be a really good gift for almost anybody.

People’s electronic devices are dying all the time when they’re on the go, so getting a portable charger for someone is a really good idea.

There are many different types of portable chargers ranging from a little to a lot of milliamps. Usually, the ones with larger milliamps are more expensive, but they’re more worth it because they can usually give your devices multiple full charges.

You can find these in a lot of stores or almost everywhere on the web.

Gloves

Gloves are a gift that not most people think about getting someone for christmas. Gloves are actually the perfect christmas gift if you really think about it.

Getting someone a pair of winter gloves can be really good because most people won’t go out and buy them, but if they have a pair they got as a gift they’re more likely to use them. It’s really good because here in Michigan it tends to get really cold during the winter.

There are gloves that are made so you can use your electronic devices while still keeping the gloves on.

Gloves can be bought almost anywhere and they’re usually on the cheap side.

Coffee mug

Coffee mugs can be a really good gift because even if the person doesn’t drink coffee, they can still use the mug for any other drinking purposes.

You can get the person some really cool mugs off of Amazon, or in stores like Target and Walgreens for not a lot of money and they will most likely love it.

Ask the person what they want

This isn’t a specific gift but just some advice.

If you really want to buy the person a gift, you can ask them specifically, or if you want to surprise them then ask a close friend or family member.

Some people truly prefer this over the money/gift cards so you should make sure to try and ask them what they want.

Raymond Chesney, ‘18 stated his opinion about what he would prefer.

“I would prefer the person just to ask me what I want. I would rather get a gift than get a gift card, or money, or a portable charger.”

So if you’re trying to figure out a good gift to buy for someone, and you don’t know what to buy. Try one of these gift ideas and they’re sure to be a good choice.
